In Gold and Silver's 1997 demo, Leafeon's Japanese name was Rifii. It had green stripes and inner ears, and it has finger-like claws instead of brown paws. But it ended up getting getting a redesign before being re-introduced in Generation IV.

Sylveon ranked 6th, among all Pokémon, in the Pokémon of the Year 2020 poll by The Pokémon Company. It also ranked 2nd among all Kalos Pokémon.

Umbreon was originally going to have gender differences starting in Generation IV, with females having smaller ears, but this idea was ultimately scrapped.

In the beta version of Pokémon Gold and Silver, Umbreon was a Poison-type Pokémon that could be evolved from Eevee with the scrapped "Poison Stone".

Beta Poison-type Umbreon:

It originally looks like this:

Vaporeon also has traits of mermaids. As it resembles and has been referred to as a mermaid, it is possible that Vaporeon is also based on the Merlion, a mythological creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish.

Jolteon may be based on the Raijū, a legendary creature from Japanese mythology composed of lightning, that is said to take in the form of various animals such as cats and dogs.

Shiny Flareon has a similar coloration as its pre-evolution, Eevee.

Glaceon has a type-advantage against its evolutionary counterpart (Leafeon). The Ice-type Glaceon is strong against the Grass-type Leafeon.

I know, I know. Umbreon has two facts, but I couldn't choose one!!
